An app on the phone
On 11 July, the comedian spoke for the first time: she made the montage quickly, in a phone app, and picked the funniest bits. Mid-morning, a plane flew over so low that the session had to stop. When it started again, the fan wasn't where it had been left. Nine people and a fan, one per row and one per column. Nothing is handed to you on a plate: you'll need more than one hypothesis to get to the end.
Suspects
- Acácio, the off-duty air traffic controller: He came to watch on his day off. When the plane went over, he called out its altitude.
- Berta, the multimedia teacher: She teaches video editing. She says the app that was used is the one she bans in class.
- Cornélio, the court usher: He stopped the session when the plane went over. He says it's the first time he's stopped something that wasn't in the room.
- Dulcineia, the duo's long-time fan: She's been to every session. She always brings the same water bottle and sits in the same seat.
- Epifânio, the tech journalist: He wrote a piece about the app the same day. The app's downloads spiked.
- Firmina, the second-shift cleaner: She starts at eleven and cleans anything that stands still. The fan was standing still.
- Gonçalo, the film student: He's making a short about the trial using only sound. The plane will be the big scene.
- Hermelinda, the court office clerk: She prints the morning's minutes. That day, the minutes had a line that just said "plane".
- Isaías, the courtyard guard: He opened the courtyard door to let some air in. What came in was the noise of the plane.
