The comedians take the stand
On 30 June, two comedians testified for the defence. One of them summed the case up like this: what the brothers want is for the court to say they aren't ridiculous, and that's impossible, because we all are. Outside, the photographers waited. Inside, the fan changed hands. Eight people and a fan, one per row and one per column. Almost nothing is said directly: you'll have to cross everything.
Suspects
- Antero, the agency photographer: He waited three hours on the steps for the exit shot. The shot came out from behind.
- Brites, the TV scriptwriter: She took a line from the testimony for this week's script. She needs permission, but it's already recorded.
- Cassiano, the court usher: He called for silence three times. The third time, he had to stop himself laughing.
- Delfina, the comedians' fan: She brought books to be signed. She had to put them away: no autographs in court.
- Eduardo, the ice cream seller on the pavement: He parked his van outside the court at ten. By eleven he was out of lemon.
- Fernanda, the foreign correspondent: She tried to explain the case for a Spanish paper. She gave up at the talent show part.
- Gaspar, the staircase security guard: He keeps the photographers away from the door. They always come back half a metre later.
- Hermínia, the court clerk: She wrote the line about being ridiculous into the minutes. She says she's never written a truer sentence.
