Second-hand embarrassment
On the radio, the brothers admitted that watching the Portimão broadcast they had felt second-hand embarrassment too: at the track it had sounded perfect to them. The line went all over the papers. That afternoon, the registered letter disappeared from the rehearsal room. Not every row and column has to be occupied.
Suspects
- Alípio, the band's drummer: He's played with the duo for fifteen years. He says there were no drums in Portimão, so it's not his fault.
- Brunilde, a magazine journalist: She came to do an interview about the Christmas album. She was only asked about the anthem.
- Cipriano, the recording engineer: He records everything twice, just in case. He has the embarrassment line in three formats.
- Delfina, the next-door neighbour: She's heard the rehearsals through the wall for years. She says the anthem is the only song she knows the words to.
