The three a.m. phone call
At three in the morning someone phoned to say where the weapons were. By a quarter past three there were eight people on the land, and none of them knew who had called. Some clues in this case come as riddles. If one stumps you, a hint will solve it. Eight people and one grenade, one per row and one per column. Almost nothing is said directly: you'll have to cross everything.
Suspects
- Agnelo, the officer who took the call: He took the anonymous call and wrote everything down. The note says "open field".
- Branca, the prosecutor: She arrived with a warrant and a torch. The torch was more use.
- Cláudio, the military police investigator: He found the weapons in twenty minutes. He says it was intuition. The intuition came with coordinates.
- Dionísia, the landowner: She woke at three in the morning to find eight people in her yard. She offered them all coffee.
- Elísio, the farmer next door: He goes past the field every day. He never noticed any boxes of weapons, but he notices everything else.
- Francelina, the reporter on duty: She got there before the police. She says it was pure luck, and luck phoned her too.
- Gaudêncio, the van driver: He drove the weapons back to the base. One was missing, but the van was full.
- Herculano, the post commander: He doesn't know who called. He only knows the number looked a lot like the post's.
