The press conference
In front of the journalists, the party insisted it wasn't accusing 'A, B or C', but couldn't help making a connection with the parliamentary inquiry. Inside, the list of suspects was much shorter, and much more familiar. One person per row, one per column. Whoever is left alone with the evidence is the one you're looking for.
Suspects
- Arminda, the spokeswoman: She practised her serious face in front of the mirror before using it in front of the cameras.
- Basílio, the adviser who 'only wanted to print something': He always has a document to print and never a good reason to do it at that hour.
- Custódio, the head of security: He guarantees the building's security and, according to him, the truth's as well.
- Dionísia, the party MP: She always votes with the party. She always thinks for herself, but only after the vote.
- Estela, the front-row journalist: She asked the question nobody answered. Then she went looking for the answer on her own.
- Fernando, the cameraman: He filmed the whole press conference. The battery died just before the interesting part.
- Guilhermina, the head of protocol: She knows where everyone sits. And she knows who got up.
- Hugo, the sound technician: He switched the microphones on at ten. By five past ten he was hearing things he shouldn't.
