Saturday at the seafood place
On the eve of the match, a club official took the refereeing team out to dinner at a seafood restaurant. The bill came with shellfish, wine and one golden whistle too many, which has since disappeared. Some clues in this case come as riddles. If one stumps you, a hint will solve it. Eight people and one whistle, one per row and one per column. Almost nothing is said directly: you'll have to cross everything.
Suspects
- Adozinda, the owner: She has served seafood for thirty years. She has never served a whistle, but she saw one on a platter.
- Basílio, the linesman: He says he only had soup. The bill says two lobsters.
- Celina, the official's wife: She came to the dinner by chance. By chance, she sat next to the referee.
- Diamantino, the official who paid: He paid cash and asked for a receipt with no name on it. He says it's modesty.
- Eugénia, the waitress: She brought the lobsters and cleared the plates. On one of them there was something golden that wasn't shellfish.
- Fausto, the assistant referee: He ate Basílio's two lobsters. He says it was so Basílio wouldn't look bad.
- Gertrudes, the diner at the next table: She ate alone and heard everything. She wrote it all on a napkin, which she keeps at home.
- Horácio, the official's driver: He waited outside with the engine running. He says dinner lasted a lobster and a half.
